As others have written, Thao did all the communicating and negotiating on our behalf as our Vietnamese is almost non-existent. Thao and our landlady even helped us get out of our hotel quickly and into a temporary apartment until our actual apartment became available.

In the months since then, everything has been just as we agreed upon and better than we expected.  Whenever we have needed to ask or explain anything complicated to our landlady, Thao has proven to be easy to contact and quick to follow through as our translator – and totally trustworthy.

We hope to return to Ho Chi Minh City in the near future.  Before we even arrive back, we plan to contact Thao Rogers at Saigon Properties again to help us find a place to live.

A pipe broke at our house that Miss Thao found for us. We called the landlord. He didn’t want to be bothered. And he couldn’t speak English. We called Thao. She found us a plumber who came and fixed the problem at 9:00 PM.
We had no water and have two small children, it was a mess. But Miss Thao took care of it for us. She even found us a very good maid. She charged us nothing.
Now when there is a problem, finding a nanny, getting an electrician, or a reliable pool cleaner, we call Thao. Our landlord appreciates Miss Thao’s extra service too.

We have since returned home to Thailand. We will go back to Vietnam next year. We’ll call Miss Thao before leaving. She knows what we want and will take good care of us. And believe me, that’s a very difficult thing to find in Saigon. I can’t say enough kind things about Miss Thao. But in Vietnam, the best thing I can say for her is, I can trust her.

My name is Nick Alexander. I am the National Director for a non-profit organization called Habitat for Humanity in Vietnam. Thao Rogers of Saigon properties has assisted me both from a personal and professional standpoint over the past six months. She found a suitable house for our family within budget and within a very limited timeframe. Since then she has assisted us in acting as an intermediary in discussions with our landlord who we are unable to communicate with effectively as we do not possess Vietnamese language. Nothing, it seems, is ever too much trouble. Her support has been very important in assisting my family of 5 to settle in to what is a very different lifestyle here in Ho Chi Ming City.
